Health Information Management Specialist II - Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate the organization and processing of digital medical records at an enterprise level.
  • Innovate by recommending and providing training on the EHR system's medical records processing and storage.
  • Lead the seamless scanning of paper medical records into the EHR System.
  • Pioneer the precise and efficient import of eFax and eDocuments into patient charts.
  • Utilize document indexing systems to monitor and maintain work queues, ensuring precise document mapping and reconciliation.
  • Ensure cross-coverage of department functions and strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Leverage communication skills to foster team dynamics and maintain effective relationships.
  • Support Legacy's policies, procedures, objectives, and the Service Guarantee.
  • Actively participate in required meetings and safety training, ensuring compliance with LCHS standards.
  • Report safety concerns promptly and adhere to exposure control plans while demonstrating proper safety techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's Degree or higher is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred: Experience in clinical/healthcare settings and RHIT Certification.
  • Proficiency in working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Preferred: Experience with word processing and computer systems.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record Systems (EHRS) is highly favored.
